CHURCHES – COUNCILLORS – COMMUNITY – CELEBRITIES
THE CRISIS
In this nation, Great Britain and around the world, we are experiencing a crisis. The spiritual and moral fibre of our communities have been eroded throughout the past few decades and at the root of this rapid decline is the failure of those in positions of leadership and influence, to set and sustain high standards of personal excellence and communal advancement. Instead, many have been guilty of leading from a faulty foundation of cheating, compromise and corruption.
This flawed leadership which has become accepted as the norm, has resulted in an unprecedented increase in institutional and individual collapse. This is evident in areas such as the rapid rise in youth violence, family breakdown, community apathy, financial uncertainty, government disparity and spiritual hypocrisy.
In a nutshell, this is the crisis we are facing.
THE CALL
In order to counteract this current state of affairs and to adequately address this crisis that we are facing as a nation, there is a call for the most important and influential institutions within our society to acknowledge and accept where they have failed and be prepared to fix that which has been broken.
1. CHURCHES must REPENT
2. COUNCILLORS must be REPOSITIONED
3. COMMUNITY leaders must RECONVENE
4. CELEBRITIES must take more RESPONSIBILITY
1. CHURCHES
The Problem - One of the primary responsibilities of the Church (I am specifically referring to those who consider themselves to be the Body of Christ) is to set and sustain the moral standard of any community they have the privilege to serve. Many churches have failed to do this. Flawed and fake leadership within the Church have resulted in many believers feeling betrayed, bewildered and broken. God has been misrepresented in the ‘hype’ of weekly services and daily hypocrisy, which unfortunately, has become a lifestyle for many ‘so called’ believers. This misrepresentation has caused many seekers to feel cynical and suspicious of a God who is truly gracious and always good.
The Solution - The church must REPENT and return to that which it was called to do which includes, primarily but not exclusively, PRAY & PROPHECY over this nation. God wants to reveal to those who will seek His face, the strategies, systems and solutions for this nation and the world which is lost, hurting and broken.
2. COUNCILLORS
The Problem – A councillor's primary role is to represent their ward or division and the people who live in it. Councillors provide a bridge between the community and the council. As a local councillor, local residents will expect you to respond to their queries and investigate their concerns. Faulty and fake leadership within the Government, beginning on a local level, has resulted in chaos within communities, causing many individuals to lose confidence and the desire to care generically about the state of the wider community.
The Solution – Councillors must be REPOSITIONED and replaced with men and women who have a sincere desire and steadfast determination to make a positive change to POLICIES, PROCEEDURES and PROTOCOLS within Government on a local and national level.
3. COMMUNITY LEADERS
The Problem – A community leader is someone who represents the community’s interests, mobilizing communities for common causes and designing various courses of action to overcome common challenges. This role is seldom paid as most community leaders operate in their position on a voluntary basis. Sadly, lack of resources both financial and practical, as well as limited rest has resulted in many community leaders experiencing burn out and many have consequently backed away from that which was once interconnected with their passion and purpose.
The Solution – Community leaders must RECONVENE and reconnect with the passion they once had to develop and deliver PROJECTS and PROGRAMMES that will enhance individuals, groups and organisations, hence enriching the local community.
4. CELEBRITIES
The Problem – Celebrities are individuals in the public eye who have been given the opportunity to showcase their gifts and talents in varying ways. In this cyber society in which we live, some people have received ‘celebrity’ status for doing absolutely nothing, yet still their influence is far reaching and deeply impacting. Tragically, the lack of a moral compass and the loss of moral boundaries of some celebrities, has resulted in many fans/followers/friends, being misled and misguided into ‘living’ a false lifestyle with the empty promise of being fulfilled by fame and fortune.
The Solution – Celebrities have a social RESPONSIBILITY to carefully consider their imagery, how they PRESENT themselves, as well as their content and what they PUT OUT THERE for those who look to them as examples.
THE CHALLENGE
The biggest challenge that we face as a human race is the ability to accept and embrace CHANGE. Most people do not change, they are uncomfortable with the unfamiliar and the unknown and consequently prefer to stick to what/who they know, even if what/who they know is detrimental to their health and wellbeing as individuals or as a collective. What we need more than anything is CHANGE. As a people we need CHANGE, as a community we need CHANGE, as a nation we need CHANGE.
The challenge FOR CHANGE will itself be the challenge TO CHANGE. But it’s time.
THE CONSEQUENCE
As a consequence of the answered call, God said, He is doing a NEW THING. This thing that He is doing is not a question, it is not a suggestion and neither is He asking for permission. THE NEW THING IS HERE. This NEW THING will manifest itself in the form of the most unlikely individuals being manoeuvred into positions of influence from nowhere in no time, He will be setting up one and putting down another. These individuals will begin to appear as NEW Church Leaders, NEW Local and National Councillors, NEW Community Leaders and NEW Celebrities. The rapid elevation and exposure of these individuals will cause many to be angry and many others to be in awe.
Our communities will have NEW expectations, NEW experiences and NEW encounters.
For all those who will resist or rebel against that which God is doing, the consequence will be inevitable and non-negotiable YOU WILL BE REMOVED.
