On 20th February 2020 the Brave, Bold, Brilliant & Black initiative was launched with an event by invitation only for inspirational and influential black men within families and local communities. Visionary and pioneer Karen Allen was inspired to host an experience that would provide a safe place specifically for black men after she was confronted with the painful reality of being surrounded by young, fatherless black boys. Karen made a conscious decision during a very painful time and at a very pivotal moment to be a voice that would champion, challenge and change the narrative concerning black men.

Purpose
The purpose of the BRAVE, BOLD, BRILLIANT AND BLACK event is to honour, highlight and heal the hearts of black men. The launch event was centred around eating, entertainment and encouragement, with men being served by women from the moment they entered the building. The passion behind the event is to let black men everywhere know unequivocally that they are loved, appreciated and needed.
